Three awesome new pictures of Ryan Reynolds all suited as Green Lantern

Wow, wow and wow, this is what the fans have been waiting for, some decent images of the DC superhero.

Released earlier today, we managed to snap up these three images thanks to Hey U Guys, and I think you would all agree, they are pretty epic. Not really showing anything apart from Ryan standing there in full costume, I think that's the point Warner Bros. is trying to make. With a lot of criticism about the way the CGI suit looked like in the trailers and previous images released, these new pictures sure smack those comments in the face. Giving a cool dark green glow, Reynolds looks kick-ass.

You can see Reynolds in his full Green Lantern glory above, from head to toe, literally. In fact did anyone actually know that he doesn't have boots? Hmm a superhero with no boots, that's a new one.

<h2>Hitting cinemas 17th June, we all can't wait for this</h2>

Ryan Reynalds Speaks out about 'Green Lantern'

With a lot of the news at the moment surrounding 'Green Lanterns' CGI problems and trailer issue etc., it's nice to have a good chat from the leading man Ryan Reynolds about the film at hand, and hear what he has to say about his character, and separate the negatives with the positives (if there are any)

After speaking exclusively with <a target="_blank" href="http://www.totalfilm.com/news/ryan-reynolds-talks-green-lantern-1">Total Film</a> about the DC superhero, Ryan explained what actually appealed to him when he was first approached with the film.

Here is what he had to say.

<em>“His real superpower is something everyone can relate to: it’s grappling and dealing with fear every day.”</em>

The actor also told explained what makes his superhero stand out from the rest, and surprisingly it's not his bright green suit.

<em>“There’s a big distinction. One is crazy, being fearless; the other one is very human. I think that’s what makes him the greatest Green Lantern of all.”</em

<em>“I think that’s what kids and adults alike are gonna love about it.”</em>

I think we can all say that whenever Ryan Reynolds is passionate about something, he really is passionate, lets just hope the film delivers in the way Ryan is making it sound.

Green Lantern is released 17th June, so you still have a little while to wait to see Ryan in his cucumber suit.

<h2>Are you as confident as Ryan is about 'Green Lantern?'</h2>

Zack Snyder says that his Clark Kent will NOT appear in the Justice League film.

After not the best start he would of wanted for 'Sucker Punch', Zack Snyder is now focusing on 'Superman' and lets pray that maybe after reading our and a few other reviews, he go back and changes a few things, because I don't think many people are too confident at the moment with Mr Snyder.

However now we have some other confusing and ridiculous news from the land of Warner Bros. and DC Comics. We<a target="_blank" href="http://www.britfilms.tv/news/batman-to-have-a-reboot---let-the-outrage-commence">Reported</a> yesterday that Batman will in fact get rebooted, after Christopher Nolan's sequel 'The Dark Knight Rises', so that Batman can slide into the story of 'The Justice League' film which apparently will be hitting the cinema in 2013 (yeah I'm angry, confused and stunned as well). And now Zack Snyder has said that his Superman will not be part of the 'Justice League' franchise, so now it looks like we will have another Superman and no doubt another film as well. Warner Bros. what the heck are doing?!

Here is what the director had to say about the issue.

<em>"Like what Christopher Nolan is doing and what I'm doing with Superman, what they'll do with Justice League of America will be it's own thing with it's own Batman and own Superman. We'll be over here with our movie and they'll kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool."</em>

So, two Clark Kent's and a potentially three Bruce Wayne's, not going to lie viewers but this sounds awful lets be honest. I mean the thing that Marvel have done so well is, take there time over the big event (Avengers) and lets the characters establish themselves before jumping the gun, Warner are pretty much rushing it in the worst possible way, before we have even seen a new Batman or Superman project. Think we should call back Clooney and see if he wants to get into the suit for another terrible outing for Batman.

The only positive is that Chris Nolan will produce the three Batman films, but somehow I'm not sure why he would want to be \apart of this, will see what else is revealed over the next few weeks.

<h2>Are you against this as much as we are?</h2>

TIN TIN NEWS FINALLY!!

We all obviously know that Steven Speilberg is bringing 'Tin Tin' to life, and for the first time, he has been keep the project very secretive from the fans, to create as much anticipation as possible.

Thanks to our friends at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.totalfilm.com/news/steven-spielberg-discusses-motion-capturing-tintin">Total Film</a> we have a cheeky interview with the director, and the risk involving motion capture, and the procedure he took in deciding whether or not it was a good idea., using the controversial filming method.

Here is what Mr Speilberg had to say.

<em>“It was based on my respect for the art of HergĂ© and wanting to get as close to that art as I could,”</em> Spielberg says. <em>“HergĂ© wrote about fictional people in a real world, not in a fantasy universe.”</em>

<em>“It was the real universe he was working with, and he used National Geographic to research his adventure stories. It just seemed that live action would be too stylised for an audience to relate to.</em>

He also went on talking about making 'Tin Tin' look realistic, but keeping with the look we all know and love.

<em>“You’d have to have costumes that are a little outrageous when you see actors wearing them. The costumes seem to fit better when the medium chosen is a digital one.”</em>

He went on saying just how much he has fallen in love with the method of filming.

<em>“I just adored it, It made me more like a painter than ever before. I got a chance to do so many jobs that I don’t often do as a director.”</em>

<em>“You get to paint with this device that puts you into a virtual world, and allows you to make your shots and block all the actors with a small hand-held device only three times as large as an Xbox game controller.”</em>

We all think 'Tin Tin' looks great lets just hope it lives up to the anticipation, we all have for it.

<h2>Can you see Speilberg doing more motion capture films? How about Younger version of Indiana Jones? This is Hollywood after all, anything could happen.</h2>

Skyline Review

We are back to that time again, another alien invasion of the blue light kind. I'm not sure why I always find myself watching films about E.T on a period so interesting, maybe its because there always that feeling that one day it could actually happen, well it hasn't. What has happened Ill tell you is another film has arrived of another awful alien invasion film, with yet more screaming humans scared about the human race being wiped away.

I checked out the trailer, and actually thought 'Skyline' look pretty bloody amazing, so I got myself comfortable put on my t-shirt that read 'I was abducted by aliens and all I got was the shit t-shirt' and I was ready. Wow is this film boring, I know it was directed by the guys that brought us the less than eventful 'Alien vs Preditor: Requiem, but this is ridiculous. I mean how many time do you want to look out the window at an alien invasion and take pretty pictures for your Facebook profile.

The film follows a group of friends, in which two of the guys are reunited from college for the others birthday bash, and apart from waking up with a terrible hangover, they wake up with ET shining a blue light in there face, which makes them fly off into the spaceship. If you ask me, this film was pretty predictable, with a clever and different start to the film, with a flash back of what happened a few hours ago, this really felt like a typical unappealing Sci-Fi film.

Don't get me wrong this film does deliver a bit more on the scare side than previous movies, and the two man males do leave a little place in your heart for some bizarre reason, so its not all bad. Heading off the Will Smith and Jeff Goldbum wannabes are Eric Balfour (Yeah I didn't know who he was either) and one of scrubs main men Donald Faison, who I must say has done some weird to his teeth, could stop looking at those munchers through the whole film. They show who is the boss, but unfortunately that fails. There is however a pretty awesome killing that Eric Balfour does to one of the aliens, does make you want to punch the air a little.

I am usually a big fan of these high budget, Hollywood block busters, but this seriously bored me, I was almost contemplating start a rumour that I was an alien because I was so bored.

If you are an easy film night human who will watch anything that has CGI in then this is probably your film, but I think I will stick to 'Independence' and big Willy!

Due Date Review

From the director that brought us the hilarious comedy 'The Hangover' we have another release with the same kind of ridiculous humour and crazy storyline with 'Due Date'

Starring Robert Downey JR and the leader of the 'Wolf Pack' Zack Galifianakis as two unlikely couples who end up having to make to long journey to the heart of LA. With Robert Downey trying to get back for his due date of his new born kid, things take a turn for the worst unsurprisingly, when he bumps into Ethan (Zack Galifiankis) and he manages to cause a hell of a lot of hassle for Mr Downey JR. With a lot of set backs you would expect with this kind of film, for some reason you don't seem to get inpatient, or bored which I was kind of expecting.

Starting off quite slow, which almost made you second guess to why you was watching it, I was seriously having some doubts about this film. Setting the story and the characters and almost 25 minutes through, I was still yet to laugh out loud. Is this the film that made me cry with laughter when I saw the trailer? At the moment it was non excistant.

However, this soon changed!, with Robert Downey soon coming to life, this film burst life as if you gave pro plus to a three year old. With several jokes and silly scenes which made you think I shouldn't be laughing at this, but oh what the hell and crack up laughing, 'Due Date' was the film I knew I was going to love from the trailers.

With a clever twist mid way in the film, which made you complete expect the unexpected, I found myself second guessing this film, which when its directed by the guy that did the hangover, I hang my head in shame.

Galifiankis, setting the standard now, and he really shows he is the new fat, curly, hairy kid on the block, with his great comedic acting and very clever camp walking, which I was seriously impressed with. I can't wait to see this guy next.

Leaving open a possible sequel, my head says no, because it would be far too much, but my heart will seriously beat again for a sequel, I loved it, well all apart from the first 20 odd minutes.

Due Date really is one to purchase, if you like any kind of silly, serious comedy with a lot of hilarious jokes, then please get 'Due Date' and let me know what you think.

Special Features.

Special Features, or do I say lack of special features, with this DVD all you really do seem to get is the film and nothing else. I love my special features and this has infuriated, there a gag reel, woop woop, my dreams have been answered. We can only be releaved because this film is so much better than its special features.

Is Megan Fox going to be 'Knocked Up'?

With news coming out in Hollywood that Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann will reprise there former roles from the comedy 'Knocked Up' for a sequel, there have been more casting rumours inform of pouted lipped Megan Fox also joining them on set.

Thanks to our pals at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/megan-fox-talks-judd-apatow-168444">Hollywood Reporter</a> we know that Jude Apatow is set to reprise his role of Writer/Director, so fingers crossed he has something different to bring to this sequel. Although its unconfirmed that Megan will be in 'Knocked Up 2' it would defiantly be funny to see her with a huge ass and baby bump.

Its obvious that Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters will be the mother and father to be, but maybe Megan will come in and play a weird and funny love triangle. I however can't really see this kicking off, and see another 'Meet the parents' trilogy and crashing and burning. But we have all been wrong in the past.

<h2>What do you think about a 'Knocked Up' sequel? yay or nay?</h2>

Paradox Soldiers

When I was given this film to review, I read the description sheet and when I saw the sentence 'World II meet Sci-Fi,' I was already looking forward to this film and planning my night around it. So Dominos on it's way, sitting comfy in the sofa and volume on full, Lets travel back to 1944.

However which shouldn't of made me second guess this film did, It was in subtitles, I was ready to press play thinking 'oh here we go'. But my oh my did the subtitles not even matter! Paradox Soldiers certainly gives a few world war II films a run for its money. The film follows a group of four who go to an annual re-enactment of WW II in Russia to relive what could be a few memories for some. After coming across an abandoned time capsule the four soon get transported back through time without realising to the year 1944, the heart of the war. Still thinking that they are part of the act back in 2009, they believe the bullets are fake, and the generals are putting on an act, soon realising what has happened, they set there own mission to escape.

Starting off slow, and not like any sci-fi film I have seen, I was still paying more attention to the the chunks of pineapple on my pizza than the screaming Russian rock band, but as soon as they are thrown back through time, this you couldn't help but get pulled into the war. With OK acting, and with a wild storyline that somehow fits perfectly, and needed the sci-fi twist.

The film seems to be quite low budget, but with unique explosion through out the film used with amazing slow motion effect that Michael Bay probably should use to make his films better, This film could of really worked for 3D and shows, that you don't a high budget and use CGI all the time to make a great adventure film.

Definatly surprised by this film, and will certainly have to purchase this on DVD Paradox Soldiers is a film for the geeks, kids and grandparents because it does cover a lot in just a short amount of time. I mean who needed Miss Ranger history lesson a few years ago when we could have had this.

If you want a change from typical Hollywood films, I guarantee 'Paradox Soldiers' Is the film and will argue until I'm Blue, Red, yellow and green in the face.

Special Features

Sadly this film didn't come with special features, but don't need anything else we do have a Sci-Fi war film, can't be greedy.

Quarantine: Terminal has infected us with a trailer, kill us all now

The sequel to the 2008 kinda hit, thriller has a new name and brand new trailer, and it's what we all must of thought, looks incredibly average. Probably why its going straight to DVD.

Quarantine: Terminal is pretty much going to be 'The Terminal' which starred Tom Hanks, but less lovey dovey, and with a lot of ill zombie looking people eating and chewing on each others flesh, so nothing really like the Tom Hanks film apart from they are in a terminal and not allowed to leave.

Quarantine: Terminal, follows swiftly on from the first film, and the virus is spreading more than other, and now its taken effect on a plane and to make it even more thrilling, the plane is in mid air, yeah, how thrilling can one get? After having to make a emergency landing to the local airport, you have guessed right they have been 'Quarantined' to stay inside the terminal and try and survive the infection, will they do it? Well that's why you have to buy the DVD isn't it.

<h2>Check out the trailer below and let us know if this will put you off flying any time soon.</h2>

The Residents Cinema Review

Thriller, stalker, jumps and scares, victim finds out at the end what is happening and kills the stalker, The End. That's pretty much what this film is about if I'm being completely honest with you.

Starring Hilary Swank as Juliet Devereau the hopeless, naĂŻve damsel in distress. After splitting up from her boyfriend she decides to move into a new apartment alone, so she can think about her future and what she wants in life, and stalker or a boyfriend pretty much. After meeting her more than helpful landlord she immediately falls in love with the apartment, and not for the landlord, who is played by have a shave actor , Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The two immediately hit it off, with no surprise, and her trust for her landlord is at its maximum even after the first day, what a surprise.

At the start of the film, you automatically judge every male character that Juliet meets, trying to figure out, is he the stalker or not, and I actually found myself sitting back really trying to get my head around the possible suspects, but then they blow the cover of the stalker about 10 minutes into the film and spoils the whole plot for the audience. For what started and could have been a very good psychological thriller like 'Seven' was back in the day, this film was well, boring. The best parts of the film were literally in the first 25 minutes. You get to see great chemistry between Hilary and Jeffrey, and really start to feel for the characters, but here is a lesson in life readers, if something is to good to be true, it normally is. I really thought this film was on to something but maybe not, cheap DVD rental maybe, not cinema smash.

Heading towards the climax of the film, well I wouldn't really call it that, there wasn't any points where you thought 'She might not actually make this' you just thought 'Oh my god, kill him already, I've got washing up to do and ironing, and work, and getting the hour and half back of my life, you stole from me'.

With not many twist or unexpected turns in the plot, this film was far too predictable, I mean even the clumsy looking and idiotic Brett Ratner could of figured this one out for himself.

If you like a typical thrillers, with the same old scenes and spooks, then this really is your film. However if you really want to do something more exciting like your washing, then I'm sure the pile you have lying around is more attractive than this film.

Sanctum Cinema Review

If you're afraid of water or even slightly claustrophobic then maybe 'Sanctum' isn't your film. This 3D adventure starts off the way it means to go on, not giving you a gasp of breath before something heart pumping happens again.

From all of the advertisement posters that were released anyone would think it was James Cameron that directed this film but in case you didn't know, he only produced this adrenaline rush, edge-of-you're-seat action water ride.

'Sanctum is Directed by Alister Grierson who makes his first major feature film début, and what a one he decided to start with. Based on a true story and after watching it, wow, what an adventure these guys had to go through. 'Sanctum' tells the story of an underwater cave diving team who experience a life or death crisis when the cave starts to flood, with the entrance blocked, the only way to survival is to go further into the cave in search of another escape route. With twist and turns around every rock, 'Sanctum' has even the bravest critic in the cinema biting their nails.

With not much of an all star cast you would expect to be attached to a film like this, you can see maybe what it was missing. With lazy acting in parts, this film felt more like an American series and not a high budget block buster involving James Cameron. Never the less, you soon forget about these silly flaws when you find yourself holding your breath and getting out the wetsuit.

Filmed using the latest 3D technology you can see why it excelled in places, the use of 3D in many of the underwater scenes were stunning, and made you feel as if you were actually there fighting to stay alive, this technology was used smartly and very effectively. This film really has got me excited for whatever Mr 3D (James Cameron) has up his sleeves next. With several unexpected twists in the film, you really have no idea how this was going to end, which for once makes a difference to a film portraying a true story.

If you are looking for an underwater adventure which is certainly going to make you think twice about taking a dunk in the bath, then trust me 'Sanctum' is your film, just take your armbands along.

Strange but true, A statue of 'Robocop' to be put up in Detroit.

Yes that's correct you have read this title right, Robocop the much loved half man, half Robot is making a come back and probably not in the way we all wanted, as a statue.

RoboCop was a huge franchise in the late 80's early 90's releasing a high budget trilogy for its time. There have been a lot of rumours and possible signs of the butch robot making a come back to the big screen, but not before a statue of him is being made and put on show in his honour. I mean we're from Nottingham and have a statue of 'Robin Hood' maybe we started a trend off, who knows.

The money was actually raised by fans in Detroit the home of RoboPolicemen, even though enough money has been raised already you can still donate if you really, really want to, can honestly say I would to be honest. Still shows there are fans out there dedicated to this franchise.

Could this be the start of a come-back for RoboCop?

Shane Meadows talks 'This is England'

'This is England' Shane Meadows outstanding portrayal of England in 1983 blew everyone away with its shock, grit and chill to show how England was back then, so it came to no surprise when he announced a four part series would be made for channel 4 based three years later. Meadows terrified us with his franchise and created four stunning episodes to leave his home town of Nottingham and the audiences wanting and hell of a lot more.

Planning to start filming in Spring, and to bring back the familiar cast with the likes of Woody and Lol, acting as a floor filler 'This is England 88' will be the base of other spin of series to come in the future, so hopefully we can expect any loose ends that were left in '88' to be tied up leaving us a smooth transition into 'TIE 90'

Staying true to the story Meadows is co-writing 'This is England 88 and 90' with 'Shameless/Skins' writer Jack Thorne.

This is England 90 is currently is development, but being from Nottingham expect this to no be forgotten!

Big Mamas house 3 Cinema Review

There's something a bit disturbing when you think of a man always going to the option of dressing up as a women to solve a crime case, than actually doing things properly like any order nary 'cop'. But if that was the case (see what I did there) we wouldn't have any 'Big Mamma' films, so stop cursing the air at that fact please.

Back for a third, and lets hope the last time ever in my life time, Martin Lawrence zips up the suit of much loved, over-sized and street wise Big Mamma. However this time he has dragged his step son along with him, yeah I know, they have made it even more cringing, and valuable point to call then men in white coats to take away Mr Lawrence, but lets make him film 'Bad Boys 3' before we do that.

Having to go undercover yet again, and this time disguising his son as Big Mamma's niece, we find the two battling with there differences as father and son, and who should wear the red shoes. Being forced to portray a young school girl at a art school, the son soon falls in love and has to juggle his women suit, for a high top trainers. With pretty much a lot of elements from the first film, and they even quote from it as well, there are times where you can clearly see that they had no ideas where this film was going.

With ridiculous bad guys trying to look tough and put on a Russian voice, they looked more like ex porn stars trying to break Hollywood with there fake tan, and over trimmed haircut. It may seem as if I'm putting this film in every way possible but its because it so easy to because there are so many poor scenes and speeches and jokes. However Brandon T. Jackson who plays 'Trent' the son of Martin Lawrence does make you laugh a few times, with the uncomfortable, cocky kid in a girls outfit, but maybe that's a young martin Lawrence coming out, so watch out we have an impersonator on the lose (shoot me now).

As soon as you see the title, you know straight away this film shouldn't have been made, and thats exactly it, why was it made? Why did good money get spent on a silly sequel? And why was there loads of old people watching it and no teenagers? Kinda sums the film up really doesn't it.

I'm so happy there wont be any more of these made, if there is, I think I will put on a fat suit and jump of the nearest bridge and shout 'Child' in a 'Big Mammas' voice.

CSI Season 10 Review

That's right! The CSI team are back to solve more complicated murders in the city of Las Vegas for the 10th season. Anyone would think that a show that is releasing its 10th season would be a bit boring and repetitive by now, and it some cases that's true but to be honest I think its getting better and better.

Let's face it if you have seen one CSI then you have pretty much seen them all, with the storyline changing in every episode so you don't really have to watch week by week. This season of Crime scene Investigation has possibly got more gory and the deaths are more brutal to the fact that someone gets shots over 130 times, think that might sting a little. Not holding back on the fake blood or morgue scenes, this season certainly stands out from the rest on that front, however starting each episode in exactly the same way with a shot of Vegas, then a dead body does start to drag once you have seen it 30 odd times

With the same cast from the previous seasons we see the CSI's look stronger and more connected, which I think is all thanks to the arrival of Laurence Fishurne, and his character Dr Raymond Langston. Langston has a huge passion in what he does but there are some cracks that seem to show early on in this season but don't fully unfold, it was nice to see that there were more personal stories blending off from the actual story, gave the episodes more depth which for a show like CSI it is hard to keep the audience and interest and awake in my cases sometimes.

With varied episodes and deaths this season definitely kept you expecting the unexpected, with a few puzzles leaving you to think, 'how did that happen?' and 'why would anyone go and leave something like that lying around to get picked up by the most famous crime Lab in the state I will never know' You really do get caught up with mass murdering psychopaths. The first two disc showed great writing and story-telling but as you work your way through the box set you soon see laziness of the writers, but you can't blame them for running this series for 10 seasons now. Towards the end of the box set, you feel as if you can solve these murders yourself with the repetitive procedures they use in every episode to keep every single bit of evidence in its prime condition, but as you get into the investigation you're soon fixated on finding the killer.

<h2>Special features</h2>
If I am being very honest with you right now readers of Bftv, then I have to say that the special features are very poor, with not much to show for the endless deaths and swabbing this season had for us, There is barely a great amount of features to say, no making of or a deeper look into the work of this hit American show, there really is nothing to show for its huge scale of work.

For a show that has been running for so long now, you really do need to admire the writers for carrying on. Keeping you glued to the television screen still after so long and this season proves why I can't wait for season 11 to be released, I know I should be ridiculously bored of this by now but for some reason I can't get enough of it.

Marmaduke DVD Review

I have a moto here its goes 'I watch these films so you don't have to' and that's exactly what was going through my mind when I got about 15 minutes into 'Marmaduke'.

There's a reason why animal based films just do not work, there is a reason why dog films do shockingly awful at the cinema and box, and that's because whatever age you are or how many times you have entered Cruffs in your life, you can't make a good dog film.

Marmaduke follows the paws of a great Dane and his ridiculously boring, annoying story of being the odd one out, not fitting in and just dull and ordinary life that we have seen a million times on the big screen. Owen Wilson lent his voice for the annoying canine, I have to admit I was a big fan of Mr Wilson's work in the past, but because he actually agreed and went to the effort or learning the awful and unfunny lines of Marmaduke, I'm sorry Owen but I'm ticking the unlike button off your Facebook page later.

With clever CGI to actually make it look real that these animals are talking, I was impressed briefly, but that was literally brief. Taking over the award of worst animal talking rubbish film from 'Rocky and Bullwinkle' I really can't see why anyone would want to be attached to a film like this.

Obviously young kids will adore this film, and parents be warned your child will start to beg for a hand bag with a tiny ugly chihuahua after watching this film, but they will sit and laugh at a few wise cracks from a talking dog, I failed to see any kind of humour with this film, apart from a few scenes where I found myself from smiling briefly, there really isn't much positives to say but a dog surfs, that sums up this film really.

Special Features.

When I opened my eyes for the special features and forced myself to even think about clicking enter to watch, I was seriously surprised, it has the standard special features you would get with a single disc DVD copy, but there three deleted scenes were actually OK. I nice little surprise I must say.

If you are looking for an underwater adventure which is certainly going to make you think twice about taking a dunk in the bath, then trust me 'Sanctum' is your film, just take your armbands along

Spider-Man Doing His Thing And Wall-Crawling HOOORAHH!!

There have been even more Spider-Man photos released and this time we actually see him web-crawling Hooray! We released last week more images of Mark Webb's 'Untitled Spider-Man' reboot and it seems we can't get enough of our friendly neighbourhood spider-man at the moment because yet again we have more to show you. We are slowly progressing through all of the webbed swingers powers with all of these photos being released, from running and flipping on a moving car, too swinging down to bad guys in the street and now we have pictures of him wall crawling up the side on a lorry, is there anything this guy can't do in one scene? Thanks to our friends over at Movieweb for snapping up these photos!

What's worrying me is that all of these photos that have been put out across the world wide web are all of the same scene, and I don't know about you but I think I've got a good grasp on what is actually happening. We have moved from the point of view of wow this suit if terrible to near enough knowing in the slides the whole chase scene and fight scene.

Lets not take away the fact that a few of these pictures show Spider-man looking quite cool and heroic on the side of a moving vehicle, but I'm bored of this already, show me something different preferably a Spidey picture with Andrew Garfield?.

For some reason I'm still excited about this films release in summer 2012.

The 'Hall Pass' Trailer!!

Second 'Hall Pass' Trailer

Warner Bros. Have just sent us the second trailer for Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis's new film 'Hall Pass' has been released and it's pretty much everything we thought it would be. Going the look of 'The Hangover' meets 'American Pie' in 20 years time, there isn't anything new or improved from the previous trailer we reported on.

If you are unaware of what this film has to offer, check out the synopsis below and the new trailer to go with it.

Best buds Rick and Fred (Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) have both been
married for many years. When they begin to show signs of restlessness at
home, their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) take a bold
approach to revitalize their marriages: they grant the guys a "hall
pass," one week of freedom to do whatever they want. No questions asked.

At first, it sounds like a dream come true for Rick and Fred, but they
quickly discover that their expectations of the single life--and
themselves--are completely and hilariously out of sync with reality

Apart from its hard to believe Storyline 'Hall Pass' doe's show some potential to be a easy watch comedy this year, but to stand up against 'The Hangover' or 'Hangover Part two' I doubt it. I see this film being more Like a 'Hot Tub Time Machine' with it ridiculous non funny jokes with a few laugh out loud moment.

For anyone who wants a hall pass to see the 'Hall Pass' its released later this year

The Dark Knight Rises to be shot at PineWood Studios!!

More 'The Dark Knight Rises' news, this time it comes in form of location filming, It seems that a source has come out saying that Christopher Nolan is looking into filming parts of 'The Dark Knight Rises' at no other than the legendary film studios Pinewood Studios.

This would mean that Christopher Nolan's follow up to 'The Dark Knight' would be part of the legendary list of films to be part of Pinewood studios such as all of the Bond adventures, 'The Wolfman' and more recent all of Harry Potter's antics. I'm not sure why this has come as a surprise when parts of 'The Dark Knight' were filmed at Pinewood but lets be honest any speculation for this film is worthy to be heard.

Beastly Trailer is here!! ARRRGHHHHHHHH!! (Beastly Voice)

Beastly Trailer

A tale about beauty with a lot of 'Beastly', the new international trailer has been released and what we all thought, it looks pretty basic. After watching the new trailer we are still stumped to see any different story from the classic Disney film that we all know and love 'Beauty and the Beast'. Set in a modern day Manhattan we follow a spoilt rich boy who values seem to be lost so instead of using the naughty step and witch decides to place him under a curse of everything that he hates.

Starring Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens as the Beast and Beauty this film seems to have a twilight meets Disney feel to it. Viewing the trailer we can see some possible new story lines and characters by introducing Neil Patrick Harris into the mix who can hopefully lighten to curse that may spread into the cinema on its release date.

I'm not hoping too much from this film, after viewing the trailer and seeing that nothing new or shocking has been released, at the moment we know the story, lets hope we gets magic curtain pulled from over our eyes.

Shane Meadows is preparing more 'This is England'. Hurrah!

Shane Meadows preparing more 'This is England'

True Grit 2010 Review

True Grit

When I sat down to watch this movie I literally went in at the deep end, I hadn't seen any of the trailers or brushed up on the news or cast I was a complete on the outside looking in on this movie, maybe that is good or maybe I would of enjoyed it a lot more if I already had a few thoughts on it to start, will never know.

After I watched the movie I researched the film and saw how much anticipation this film created, it is new film from the Coen brothers and has an all star cast with the likes of Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and making her perfect big screen debut Hailee Steinfeld . True Grit follows the story of young Mattie who is a young teen that is fixed on finding her fathers killer and soon enlist the help of an alcoholic but still go it U.S Marshall (Jeff Bridges) to help hunt down the murderer. Along the way they find help from La Boeuf where the murdering Tom Chaney is wanted in his state, that's pretty much it for the story, simple I know.

Starting off very slow and quite dull at the start I found my self looking around the room finding anything to take in to pass the time. For me 'True Grit' wasn't living up to the hype everyone hoped it would be. However there was a big turning point which seemed to grab me from my chair and suck me in, twenty five minutes in and battling through the dull and hard to believe storyline I became hooked, I wanted them to catch Tom Chaney and I could really see why there was such a hype.

Being 1 hour 20minutes long that didn't give a lot of time to sway my mind enough, with hard to believe character like the one Hailee Steinfeld portrays I failed to see how a young 14 year old girl could take control and dominate these experience U.S Marshall's and without a tear to show for it. Trying to balance the serious with witty humour Bridges does his best to create a few smiles along the way, somehow I feel this movie was hesitant in what it wanted to achieve.

Darren Aronofsky wants to direct batman 4!??

'The Dark Knight Rises' plot hasn't even been released and already news of what will happen to the franchise once Christopher Nolan has put down the batmorang. According to rumour in the bat-cave WWE Superstar John Cena is looking and working towards his seat in the bat mobile in the next outing in batman 4, HOLY LAY THE SMACK DOWN ON THIS NEWS BATMAN!!

BUT now there is something to get everyone talking and rumours spread, 'The Wolverine' and 'The Swan' director Darren Aronofsky is come out in an interview and said he would love to put himself forward to direct the next adventure of Batman. Aronofsky failed to win round Warner Bros. With his script on 'Batman Begins' so he now feels that bringing out a comic-book adaptation would be a better way to win around Hollywood.

I think he would bring something completely different to Christopher Nolan's portrayal of The caped crusader, however is it what fans want and would expect?? Will have to see.

John Barry Dies

I was devastated this morning to hear the news that the world of film has lost one of its greatest talents, contributors and all round top fellas, John Barry. Barry died from a heart attack this morning, he was 77. If you're not familiar with his work, then you need a smack in the chops, as well composing 11 James Bond films, Barry laid down scores to such classics as Born Free, Walkabout, The Ipcress File and Dances with Wolves – amongst his best Bonds – On Her Majesty's Secret Service and You Only Live Twice get our vote.

Barry went on to win several awards for his work with the likes 'The Lion in the Winter' where he picked up his first individual Oscar. Showing his consistency John went on to win another three more Oscars and two Baftas and by the end of his career he was nominated for an astonishing 21 awards.

The shocking news was broken via twitter this morning when the latest Bond composer David Arnold posted "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Barry passed away this morning." David also went on to say "I am profoundly saddened by the news but profoundly thankful for everything he did for music and for me personally."

After looking at IMDB and the work Barry has done over the years, it looks like he didn't have a day off for 34 years working consistently on projects from 1960 through to 1994. So it's obvious when we say there will be a huge hole in cinema with his passing. David Arnold is great, but Bond has been missing a wee bit of the Barry magic since 1989, we often thought he might step out of retirement to do just one more, that won't be happening now, JB we hope you rest in peace – you will be mightily missed.

X-MEN- FIRST CLASS IMAGE RELEASED!!

First official images of 'X-Men-first class' have been released, and yes it doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion. The film is directed by 'Kick Ass' director Vince Vaughan who proved that a comic-book adaptation can be low budget and still blow away the box-office, so a certain hype surrounding his next superhero flick isn't a shock.

Based on Professor Xavier's first X-Men class we can expect not to see the big named classmates we know and love from previous X-Men films. This is set in 1960's when Xavier and Eric Lehnsherr (Magneto) were good friends and decide to build a school for troubled mutant teens.

The image shows all nine of X-Men- First class characters standing side by side in the new and if I do say so slightly more camp but improved yellow suites. The image takes you back to Bryan Singers X-Men, where there standing arms crossed looking deep into the camera making audiences gasp with what mutant powers these nine have. Hopefully future posters and images of the next X-men adventure are a little better and perhaps different, this is a reboot after all.

Stay tuned in the future for more X-Men-First class images, now there is one no doubt a lot more will soon be around the web.

Superman The Movie Review

Superman The Movie, do we really believe man can fly?

Showing the first steps and action of the man of steal, 'Superman The Movie' doesn't disappoint, its thirty two years since we first saw the man of steal on the big screen and still makes me feel like putting on the red cape and rescuing a cat from the tree.

Starting off at a slow pace and telling the story of his homeland (Krypton) you slowly start to anticipate Superman's first on screen appearance. Richard Donner (Director) has managed to avoid any campness you could possibly find in a superhero who is known for wearing red pants and bright blue tights with a perfectly coiffed hairstyle. Christopher Reeve (Clark Kent) manages to portray a bumbling mild manoured reporter by day and by night a man who can leap tall buildings in a single bound with such credibility. Having its moments of great action and suspence Superman delivers on all aspects of what a comicbook movie should live up to. We get to see what a true american Superhero can do whether its being fired at from all angles, being set on fire or even having a quick swim in larver superman can do it all and boy are we impressed!!

However if your a big comic book follwer then there are some floors which may annoy you, drgging at the start doesn't really allow it reach its full potential, but after seeing a man fly you soon forget the boring opening scenes. If however you are after an all start cast with the likes of 'Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando', full of fantasy and adventure then superman is your hero!

In my opinion you do believe a man can fly!!

The Beginning of a film makers

Recently I have been thinking about film makers and what makes a film maker. I've watched alot of films over the past few weeks from the so called film makers of today for example, 'PULP FICTION' by Quentin Tarontino, 'INCEPTION' by Christopher Nolan, 'A MILLION DOLAR BABY' by Clint Eastwood and 'SHUTTER ISLAND' by Martin Scorsese.

All of these incredible and mind blowing film makers all started from somewhere. I reserched these film makers and tried to find there first ever film they made. What I found visually interesting as a lover of film and film production, is there own film styles slow creeping into there first films almost a hint of what is to come in 5-10 years.

Quentino Tarantino is know for 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Reservoir Dogs' but his first short film that he directed, wrote and even stared in was ' My Best Friends Birthday' I managed to find the film on the internet and watched a few scenes, where I could imediatly see creative and visual side of the Tarantino we know today.

One of my favourite and in my opinion best film maker of today Christopher Nolan, hasn't really been around or in the public eye for long and really came into the spotlight after is amazing comic to film transformation of Batman. I looked up his Directed films and inputs he has to films, and the list was surprisingly short, I found and managed to track down a few minutes of the opening of his directual debut called 'Doodleebug' this short film stood out to straight away after reading the storyline because it was so diffrent to anyother short film I have ever seen before,

'In a ratty flat, a man is on his hands and knees, holding a shoe by its toe, trying to kill a bug of some sort that so far has managed to evade him. He keeps up the chase and whacks at it a few times. Then, we get a look at what he's been trying to flatten. In what sort of universe have we found ourselves? Who's in danger?'

My first reactions were that this film will be quite boring and how can someone make this interesting and really attract the audience, but thats what Christopher does so well! Only casting one actor, and only using a few cameras and techniques Chirstopher still manages to create tension and claustrophobia with his camera angles and use of editing.

I have always been a fan of Martin Scorsese and his first ever short film ever since the day I saw it back In my year 12 film studies class and since then my passion for his film making and this certain piece of film making has changed the way I look at creating films and short scenes. There isn't a single fan of film that doesn't know who Martin Scorses is and what he has produced, he really is the father of film and always will be. In Martin first short film he did something completely diffrent that still to this day hasn't been done again, he took an everyday ordanary thing and turned it around into something dramatic, horrific and shocking.

All of techniques that we see in these directors first film making debuts all show there first efforts and thoughts on film making from camera angles to casting and even editing. Even now when we watch there latest blockbuster hits like Christopher Nolan's 'INCEPTION' we see what the hard work and journey his has come through and how he and others still use methods from the first ever films all the way through to there very last.

Gotham High Photos Featuring Batman and the Joker in High School

Around two years ago, DC comics approached graphic artists to create and new superhero cartoon series called ' Gotham High' which would resolve around the young hugh school years of Bruce Wayne (Batman) and his arch nemesis The Joker, as you can see by the link below DC did spend some time on this potentially new cartoon series, and also as you can see why it never really took off in the first place. Going against all of The Dark Knights stories and previous adventures, I hope everyone is releaved that this never took off in the first place.

Lets all start to look forward to the third and last installment of The Dark Knight adventures in 'The Dark Knight Rises' which heads to theatres summer 2012

3D or not 3D?!?!!?!!??!!

An Investigation into the impact 3D cinema has to its audience and Directors

In this investigation I will be looking into the impact 3D cinema has to its audience and how the directors of today feel about the use of 3D cinema. Motion picture films have been running for over 65 years, and to an even more surprise 3D motion pictures having been produced since 1950’s and started the market in American cinema. A 3D film is basically a motion picture that has been enhanced with an illusion and perception, which allows the footage to pounce off the screen. The only way you can potentially get these images onto the screen and visually through the audience’s eye is if you shoot using a special motion picture camera and use eye wear which provides an illusion to the audience while they view the motion picture. 3D motion picture films have only really become popular again for the past 3 – 5 years and the demand for them at the cinema, and with high end theatre such as IMAX producing their very own 3D cameras and screens across the world, this shows the market is building for a 3D produced films.
3D films aim to create the feeling that the audience are in fact part of the film, the 3D technology is aiming for the audiences to move out the way and jump as if something is coming towards them, 3D films are aiming to make motion pictures more exciting and more realistic, but does it?
I am going to investigate the impact 3-D films have over its audiences and if the audience feel that 3-D film live up to the hype, I also intend on looking into the directors of the more high budget known for  3-D and 3D converted films. I also intend to look at well-known directors and there hesitant transition to 3D films for example Christopher Nolan the writer and director of the past two batman films and his confusion and his hesitancy in using 3D technology even though he finds it technically fascinating.
"On a technical level, it's fascinating, but on an experiential level, I find the dimness of the image extremely alienating." [1]
After researching 3D films and the filming techniques used to create a 3D blockbuster such as ‘Avatar’, I wanted to see if they really are smashing and taking over the boxing office. Its very clear that 3D films are slowly taking over the box office and creating a huge impact for the audience. If we look back to 2008 ‘The Dark Knight’ was top of the box office charts and remained there until the end of the year[2], although this wasn’t in 3D it was in fact shot the same technical camera to which the IMAX created this shows that the same technology is slowly creeping into the box office and in cinemas and its being recognised.
Having seen that 3D films and the technique are slowly moving up in the box office and audiences are getting more familiarized with the new visual means of watching a motion picture, I’ve carried on and looked into the box office results for 2009 ad 2010. Yet again there are 3D technique films in the top twenty but also 5 fully converted 3D films such as ‘James Cameron’s Avatar’ which sits top of the charts of 2009[3] and also the most a motion picture film has ever made. Other 3D films that sit in the top twenty of the 2009 box office results are ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’, ‘UP’, ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ and also ‘A Christmas Carol’3. Just a year later and five 3D films have come into the cinema and nearly taken over the top twenty, 3D age is now upon us.
Currently the top twenty in the 2010 box office results there are nine 3D films which is nearly double of 2009. This clear shows that 3D films are getting bigger and more competitive with each other as larger production companies such as ‘Warner Bros’ and ‘Universal Studios’[4] are producing and converting more and more 3D motion picture films. This would be the case if the impact to the audience wasn’t in fact a positive one, because 3D has slowly disappeared in the past due to poor ratings, but looking at the statistics 3D films are here for the long run.
‘http://boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?view2=worldwide&yr=2010&p=.htm’
I created a short questionnaire to give to a few people at my University so I could hear and hopefully understand how the audiences feel about 3D films at the cinema and if they generally like them, and if the statistics to box office takings are true. I added a few simple questions into my questionnaire such as, What 3D films have they seen, and what they generally think of 3D films. The Results came back were a little shocking as I initially thought everyone would have been blown away with the concept of 3D films and judging by the results of the last three years at the box office this really did come back as a shock. A lot of people loved the fully converted 3D films such as ‘Avatar’ and Toy Story’ because they were done so well and really made you believe that you was in the film and apart of the visual aspect of the film. There was also a lot of criticism about a few 3D films, such as ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth 2008’ which wasn’t even in the top twenty in 2008, many people thought it looked too ‘fake’ and couldn’t take it seriously all due to the fact it was in 3D. ‘Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was another 3D film which caught my eye when I looked back at the results, although it was converted late into a 3D motion picture every single questionnaire that came back said how disappointing it was, and the 3D visual side was in fact ‘pointless’ and not needed. I also asked the chosen audience what they believe would make and what they would like to see in a 3D motion picture, I was expecting the results to be varied because it was a type of question where anything could come back. But I was yet again proved wrong, 9/11 people came back saying they only like and want to see 3D films that are fully or nearly fully animated for example ‘Avatar’ and ‘Toy Story 3’ Which are both currently the top two grossing 3D films ever. This would also explain why ‘Alice in Wonderland’ failed to win round the audiences on its release in 2010.
Because 3D films have come out of nowhere and changed cinema forever, many directors have had to change there techniques and there style in filming to cater for the 3D camera and also script writers and screen writers have also had to adapt the way they see the film and put it onto paper to pitch to the producers. Many film makers have had to adapt and change completely the way the film and produce a 3D film. As I briefly said before there are many directors that are very for the idea of a 3D take over and excited about the new cinema and the new look of film that is being produced for example James Cameron the writer and Director is very for and excited for 3D takeover, as he achieved to create the biggest motion picture of all time and is also converting another one of his films ‘Titanic’ into 3D.
‘I think that’s the true and correct use of the conversion technology, is for movies that are already done and are already beloved films. I want to do it with “Titanic,” maybe I’ll go back to “T2,” I don’t know’ (James Cameron)[5]
This shows that directors are looking into converting and producing as many 3D films for the future and they realise that it’s a new age of film making. I went back to the audience who answered my questionnaire and discussed the conversion that James Cameron is currently involved with and how they felt about it. All of them thought it was a scheme to get more money from them, and couldn’t quite understand why they would want to convert an old film such as ‘Titanic’ which was released nearly ten years ago, and back then CGI was up and coming and wasn’t at its greatest, so converting it into 3D many people are worried that it will damage the effect visually and emotionally when it is released in 2012.
It seems that the impact of 3D cinema is only truly making a huge impact if the film was initially filmed and produced for 3D vision purpose and not for conversion. But because 3D films are growing and have only suddenly started to take over and earn such giant box office takings then directors and film companies will convert their films which they have been working on for the past three- four years where they thought 2D cinema was still the means of watching a blockbuster. Judging by many audiences’ views they will be hoping that we are at the end of converted 2D motion picture to 3D motion pictures. Director Joe Dante who directed the film ‘The Hole’ which was all filmed in 3D says that’s 2D films converted to 3D will kill 3D cinema and that it will all slowly fade away.
‘2D-to-3D converted movies are 'a rip-off' and will 'kill 3D' (Joe Dante)
James Dante is a director who believes in 3D motion pictures but doesn’t feel that you can convert a film technique and a film sequence that wasn’t initially meant for the 3D screen.[6] James also believes that in a few years to come there will be many 2D- converted films to 3D. This however will ruin the full on impact for an audience because they won’t be able to relate as much as they possible did when they saw the 2D film.

In my conclusion I feel that the age of 2D cinema is slowly disappearing and the age of 3D is gradually taking over with a huge effect on cinema takings and box office results, with the likes of ‘Avatar’ and Toy Story 3’ being great examples of this and with sequels of ‘Avatar being in production now, we can only wait for me 3D films to take the box office from knew and loved to what we will love in years to come. I also feel that this is a very sensitive subject with many directors, for example Christopher Nolan and Joe Dante and their views on 3D not being true cinema and giving the audience a true film experience., however there are so many other directors who have benefited from the transition and finding it easy to convert from 2D film to 3D or even write scripts for a full 3D motion picture.
With 3D motion picture still learning and film creators still trying to figure out what works best and what exactly the audiences like, I feel that the audiences views on 3D cinema will change until they get a consistency like with ‘Avatar’ I also feel that with these same examples that the audiences impact to 3D cinema will also change as technology and directors learn more and if we hear more from the audiences then the production company can change or add to up and coming 3D motion pictures. 3D films are there to wow audiences, with new technology and with realistic CGI caption it is already doing its job, with only making a comeback within the last three- five years I feel 3D films will and is going to be around for the rest of film and cinema history. Getting the audiences to be more involved and feel as if they are living within a fantasy world is everyone’s dream, and it’s now come true through the eyes of 3D.
